Barrington Tops luxury accommodation

Looking for an epic adventure, look no further!

This is a 4 day ride taking you right to the top of the Barringtons and finishing at the Coast, close to Hawkes Nest. This tour has been inspired by and still in parts follows the 11 day Barrington Tops to Myall Heritage Walk. You’ll ride 50 – 75 Km each day and your first stops will be Carey’s Peak. Carey’s Peak is 1544m above sea level and on a good clear day you’ll see our destination from there about 200Km to the east, the coast! On the journey to the surf you will experience a wide range of flora and fauna, including a wide range of really tall trees, brumbies, wombats, wallabies and heaps of different birds.
This is one of the most scenic rides you can do anywhere in the world.

This is a difficult MTB ride for experienced mountain bikers and road rider with good climbing abilities. In average we will be riding 5-7 hours a day and some climbs are to steep to ride, and you’ll need to push your bike. This especially true in the Barrington Tops. I’ve called this an adventure tour because the link trail from Barrington Tops to Gloucester Tops is mostly single track with high grass in many places and many fallen over trees that have to be crossed over and sometimes under.

Your adventure will start with a bit of luxury on Wednesday night when you stay at Curlew Cottage B&B run by lovely wife Carol. This will be a big change to the next night where you’ll experience a night in an true walkers hut built in the sixties, hidden away in the bush, a real rough and rustic hut with a little creek supplying water near by. The next two nights after this we’ll stay in bush camps on our way to Bombah Point.
