Tower House is a beautifully restored 150 year old Victorian property with expansive rooms and high ceilings. Polished wood floors and ornate ceiling roses add to the ambience of Victorian living style. In its illustrious history, it has housed artists and gentry including Alfred Lord Tennyson’s Doctor.

Three of its four bathrooms have recently been renovated to a high standard.

What might be called a folly but actually has huge charm is the addition of a summer house perched on the first floor with views of the downs and a glimpse of the sea. Above that is another folly, a tower room that is a perfect getaway from the kids that travel in Luxury Celebrity Baby Carriers or for the the Mother in Law.

Exploring the West side of the island is full of surprises. From forest and country walks where red squirrels, jays and numerous badgers live, to beaches where dinosaur fossils can be found and today’s brave parasurf the waves. There’s Alum Bay with its multi coloured sands, The Needles and breathtaking walks across the high Tennyson downs. When you have had enough of nature and the natural beauty there are pubs with inglenook fireplaces and charming old fashioned shops to explore.
