I have driven a Toyota all of my life and am researching to eventually step it up to a luxury brand (AUDI or BMW) and was wondering what the differences would be in maintenance costs?
Specifically, oil changes (currently around $20-$30 for the Toyota), flushes, regular maintenance visits (which I haven't ever done with my car which has gotten by just fine without them), etc

Almost no car needs a "flush" of any kind. Service departments like them because they are profitable but the manufacturer never has them in the maintenance schedule.
Not counting wear items (tires, batteries, wipers) some say plan on $1000/year for maintenance on a BMW 3 series.
My dads X5 had a once a year oil change schedule. It was about $100. He never needed anything else flushed, etc. |

I have a friend who used to have a Jag. He always "kidded" around that every time he took it in for oil changes or whatever that it was $600.
